One year on

It’s has been one year on since the Australian wide jam took place. The 9 events around Australia were great and much money was raised for the victims of the Queensland floods of 2011.

Darwin jam 2.0

Darwin finally completed their contribution to the donation tally on Sunday. Due to cyclone Carlos sitting right on top of Darwin just a few days before the 20th of February, the day of the nationwide BMX FOR FLOODS jam, the Darwin airport was shut. Because of this some of the donated products were not able to get through to Spokes NT to be set for auction on the BMX FOR FLOODS jam day. Dave Orme from darwinbmxscene.blogspot.com got the jam 2.0 set to roll for Sunday 6th March. With a previous total of $1685.85 the riders from Darwin raised another $354.05 bring the total from Darwin to $2039.90. That is such an awesome effort from such a small major city. A big thank you to all of the riders who supported and helped out. Mad propes to Dave Orme, Spokes NT and the list of supporters that helped out in Darwin. Photos from the day as well as the first jam can be seen on the Oh my Darwin website. Check it here

Darwin 2.0 jam

Due to cyclone Carlos hitting Darwin a few days before the BMX FOR FLOODS jam the Darwin air port was shut which meant that some of the product that was sent to Darwin for the jam did not make it. Dave Orme has now set up jam 2.0 to shift the rest of the donated product. At this stage if things go really well Darwin could be the location which has raised the most donations. Get yourself if you can to the Darwin jam.
